START A CHAPTER

STEP 1

Make a commitment to establish a chapter at your school.

To develop and maintain a chapter, a school must:

  • Follow the National Constitution's guidelines.
  • Select a faculty member to serve as chapter advisor.
  • Agree to provide the facilities and material support to maintain the chapter.
  • Maintain an active annual affiliation with the national office.

STEP 2

Download and fill out the NCS Charter Application packet

Charter applications should be typed and all appropriate information provided.

  • Payment o f the chartering fee (by check or money order) is waived for all chapters whose registration is concluded by July 31 of 2008. The completion of charter chapter membership includes affiliation with the National Creative Society for the remainder of the current school year through July 31st.
  • Be sure to have the official chapter advisor(s) sign the application form along with the principal whose signature is also required to indicate approval of the application and the stated conditions.

Once completed, return them via mail to us at:

National Creative Society
PO Box 1564 Rome GA 30162-1564

STEP 3

Applications are received and processed year-round. Notification of acceptance of your chapter, or any needed clarification, will be sent to you as soon as possible--usually within a week. Current applications (including those for free charter chapter memberships) will need no renewal until August 1, 2008.

Should you wish to check on the status of your charter application, you can e-mail the national office at info@nationalcreativesociety.com

STEP 4

Once your charter has been approved, a letter of congratulations and other relevant information including your school membership certificate will be mailed to the school to the attention of the designated chapter advisor.

The principal and advisor(s) should then develop the local chapter guidelines. All chapters are expected to operate from local guidelines that have been established in alignment with the National Constitution of the National Creative Society. However, the National Creative Society will in no way be responsible for, or interfere in, nor serve as a source of appeal for membership matters or other local decisions unless the decisions of a local chapter are shown to be in non-compliance with the national constitution.

It is recommended that student members be involved in the formation of local chapter guidelines.
