The officially listed  advisor(s) of active NCS chapters are invited to submit examples from their students, who are enrolled and active NCS chapter members, for possible posting to our website as it is regularly updated. Submissions should be sent to our webmaster at JasonFordham@msn.com. While NCS acknowledges the value of all levels and dimensions of visual, written and performance art, selections that are posted will be totally at the discretion of our webmaster and committee and as deemed appropriate for public access by all ages. The chapter advisor should forward the chapter’s name and school location and, if desired, a contact e-mail address so that other interested members might contact your chapter directly to learn more. For reasons of privacy and permission, NCS will post only the first name of the student with his or her creation. In the case of lengthy writing or performance samples, it may be most appropriate to submit an especially vital excerpt with an explanatory synopsis of the context.

JOHN WISDOM 
 
On one particular day,
John Wisdom heard someone say,
The Yankees were coming to make the South pay,
Johnny decided to do a good deed and offer a warning to Rome,
That they just might need,
He took off on a mule,
Which started his ride which proved to be cruel,
Johnny kept on going,
The Yankee news kept his momentum flowing,
He just could not stand to be the only one knowing,
Once he arrived,
He was thankful just to have survived,
But he let out a shout so loud to the people of Rome ,
That within minutes everyone should have known,
So of course, to the people of Rome the Yankee invasion was no surprise,
John Wisdom definitely had not spoken lies,
In return he was appreciated for all the saved lives.

THE RIDE

Not a moment too late,
to arn us of Strait,
He came to Rome,
At the crack of dawn,
No people on porches,
nor on their lawn,
For their heads,
Lay warm in their beds,
and nary a light was on.
Five steeds and a mule,
Were better than fuel,
For one lone and noble rider,
Brave was he,
Proud to be,
Rome's Paul Rever,
John Wisdom.
