19th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference

Sharon and Charles Reichel Exhibit and Present on behalf of NCS at the 19th Annual National Youth-At-Risk Conference in Savannah.

On February 9th, 2008, Charles and Sharon Reichel thanked Ms. Indra Thomas for her wonderful performance with the Rome Symphony Orchestra. Indra Thomas, a 1993 graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia was among the National Creative Society's first scholarship recipients.
Indra worked with Dr. Reichel, as a student helper in the Career Counseling Office, during her participation in the filming of the academy award winning film Driving Miss Daisy. ( Where she had a tremendus solo opportunity in the film, singing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" during the movie's funeral scene.)
Since that time, Ms. Thomas has traveled the world and is acclaimed as one of the greatest Aidas in the world today. Ms. Thomas will make her debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2009 singing the role of Amelia in Ballo in Maschera.
We celebrate her accomplishments and perseverance through many life challenges! With others who early encouraged Indra in Rome, and now being joined with voices around the world, we shout, "Bravo!" and "Encore!"
That encouragement ("En Core"-- from "the heart"} is our hope for all young, creative artists.
