How do I become a member?

Membership in the National Creative Society is by faculty, instructor, mentor, or parental nomination only and is based on evidence of high interest, exceptional skill and demonstrated production and involvement in any visual, written or performance art.  Nominations, as well, are based on sound character and adequate student progress in his or her school or educational system.

Membership is currently open to “rising” fifth grade students and continues through the senior year of high school. Once nominated and accepted as a member of the National Creative Society, the student remains in our registry through age 18 or through his or her final year of high school. If a student matriculates to a post-secondary school or college and wishes to remain a member of the National Creative Society, it is possible to do so by making a written request to the National Creative Society member through that student’s post-secondary, undergraduate years.

Active student membership is defined by being nominated, accepting nomination, and being inducted into the National Creative Society. Each member will receive a certificate of membership and a lapel pin and will be eligible to attend all National Creative Society functions and participate in all scholarship and grant programs for which they qualify.

Students are nominated to an active chartered chapter by any faculty member or private arts instructor who knows the student’s work in the arts. However, the nominations must be formally made to and processed through (and the invitations sent by) the official, named advisor(s) of each chartered chapter.

Any faculty members, instructors, mentors, or parents interested in nominating a student to the National Creative Society can begin this simple process by contacting the NCS atinfoatncs@aol.com.
